- Qigong Lesson
Yijin Jing is an ancient Qigong manual containing a series of exercises, coordinated breathing and mental concentration, said to enhance physical health dramatically when practiced consistently. In Chinese “Yi” means change, “Jin” means tendons and meridians, while “Jing” denotes a handbook. This relatively intense form of exercise aims to strengthen the muscles and tendons, thus promoting strength and flexibility, speed and stamina, and balance and coordination of the body. These exercises are notable for being a key element of the physical conditioning used in Shaolin training, while for everyday folks , they are useful for treating chronic cardiopulmonary disease, musculoskeletal disease and other degenerative diseases.
- Tai chi
Tai chi is a Chinese martial art form practiced for its health benefits. A 2015 systematic review found tai chi can be practiced even by those with medical conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, and osteoarthritis without worsening their shortness of breath and pain. In addition, the study found favorable effects on functional exercise capacity in people with these conditions.
