Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Most people would like to have a flawless complexion. Facial rejuvenation is a process of restoration of the charm and youthfulness of the face and skin by reducing or removing the signs of ageing. This can be done through either cosmetic surgery or non-surgical procedures like chemical peels, Botox, dermal fillers or acupuncture.

What is Acupuncture Facelift?

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture or acupuncture facelift (Acu-lift in short) is a non-surgical and painless way to reduce wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, sagging skin folds or cellulite. Acupuncture facial rejuvenation aims to facilitate your body to repair facial skin and muscles by stimulating the regeneration of the collagen IV and muscle fibers.A licensed acupuncturist inserts extremely fine micro-needles into the skin at specific acupoints that are grouped on so-called ‘energy highways’ or channels of energy qi also known as meridians that exist in corresponding pairs. This process removes the blockage of life energy (qi), restores and maintains the smooth flow of qi and blood in the meridians and helps relieve pain and repairs nerves and blood vessels.

This is a story about Rose, a woman who has been using acupuncture to reduce her wrinkles and tone her facial muscles for the past 8 years at the Boca Raton and Delray Beach Acupuncture clinic. When she first started facial acupuncture treatment, she was a recent breast cancer survivor. She was taking four medications for her blood pressure, hypothyroid and Arial Fibrillation. Every time she came to Boca Acupuncture clinic, the acupuncturist would take her pulse and observe how her heart rate changed with medications. Her Boca Raton acupuncturist had been using certain points to regulate her heart beats, and also suggesting modifications to her life style.

The three medications she was taking did not seem to regulate her heart problems. She decided to talk to her cardiologist in Boynton Beach and together they decided to stop the three medications. Her acupuncturist in Boca Raton also told her to cut back on coffee, go to bed before 12 PM and adjust her thyroid medication with the advice of her endocrinologist. After she had had acupuncture for a year and changed her life style, her heart beats became regular and her heart rate settled in around 60 BPM without medication. Furthermore, after she stopped her medications, her cold hands and feet got better. Her arthritis was much remediated, and she did not complain about her hand and foot pain when she went for her facial rejuvenation acupuncture in Boca Raton Chinese Acupuncture clinic.

With her heart condition improved, she started personal training sessions in the gym to tone her muscles at the age of 90 years old. When she first started to lift weights three times a week, she developed knee and hip pain. Because she had a healthy diet, she did not have any systematic inflammation; her muscle pain was eased with only one to two acupuncture treatments. With acupuncture and exercise for another two years, her joint pain and Raynaud’s syndrome (extreme cold hands and feet) did not bother her anymore. Her facial wrinkles went away; she still had a sharp memory, she cooked her own food and cleaned her own house in Pompano beach.

In 2016, Rose fell in the bath tub and fractured her thoracic vertebrae at her new home in Parkland. She had been lying down for a month to recover from her fall. Her acupuncturist in Boca Raton felt bad for Rose because she knew how important acupuncture facial rejuvenation had been to her. However, because Rose has been exercising for her whole life, she was able to recover from the bad fall within 2 months. She came back for her routine acupuncture three months after her fall and told her acupuncturist in Boca Raton that she had developed more wrinkles on one side of the face because she rested on that side for too long. She would like to use acupuncture to reduce those wrinkles as soon as possible. While she was waiting for her facial acupuncture session in the waiting room, a few of the other patients expressed surprise at her age. They thought she looked like she was 60 years old with her facial skin and muscle tone. But no, she actually a very young 93.
