Vertigo is the sensation of movement when your body and head are still. Common symptoms of vertigo include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, loss of balance, and fatigue and are all related to the dysfunction of the inner ear. Many factors can contribute to this dysfunction, including viral infections that cause nerve inflammation, inner ear surgery, exposure to severe cold, and dehydration. Acupuncture for vertigo can desensitize the nerves in the inner ear so that the rate of abnormal firing of the nerves is reduced. In addition, acupuncture instantly relaxes neck muscles and brings energy to the ears, thereby reducing the swelling of hair cells in the inner ear and thus inflammation.

Acupuncture helps patients lose weight by reducing their cravings and appetite. In addition, acupuncture improves the digestion, which allows the body to convert food into energy to be burned instead of stored as fat. We frequently combine regular acupuncture with ear needles to prolong the effect of the treatments and sustain the decrease in cravings. Unlike diets that cause your weight to yo-yo up and down, our acupuncturist works with you to change your lifestyle so that weight loss can be sustained.
